Margaret Ramirez Hughes, 89, was born on November 2, 1936, in LaPorte, TX, and passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, in Denton, TX, on May 8, 2026, surrounded by loving family. Margaret was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness, strength, and warmth touched everyone who knew her.
She loved to watch baseball & football games, in addition to watching games shows, docudramas and classic westerns. Margaret enjoyed going out to various restaurants and having pleasant dining experiences with family. She especially cared about having family gatherings and spending Holidays together. She will be remembered for her caring spirit, wisdom, and the unconditional love she gave so 
freely to her family.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Berton F. (Mike) Hughes. She is survived by her brother Gilbert Ramirez, son, Michael J. Hughes Sr., daughter, Brenda Johnston and husband Billy; her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer Cantu & husband Oscar, Wesley Brock & wife Joan, Michael J. Hughes Jr. & wife Tiffanie, Amanda Cagnetto & husband Harry, and Kelli Revere; 12 great-grandchildren, 
and 1 great great-grandchild. She also leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Though she will be greatly missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace, pain free and reunited with her loving husband and family in Heaven.
A memorial service will be held on June 6th, 2026, at 3 pm at CT Church Pasadena, 6109 Fairmont Pkwy, Pasadena TX, 77505, with Pastor Nick Caveness officiating.
A reception will immediately follow the memorial service.
