Christie Lambert Purcell Gilpin born in Alva Oklahoma October 30th 1961 passed away peacefully April
28th, 2026, with her husband Robin and loyal companions Willow and Ringo by her side.
After moving to Plano with her family, Christie graduated from Plano High school before attending the University of Texas at Austin where she achieved a Bachelor of Arts while also representing the Longhorn water skiing team. It didn’t take long for Christie to take the bold step of starting her own business, after a short stint working for others, she founded Lambert Design Studio. She earned many industry awards and her talent and devotion to clients earned her the admiration of her peers and customers alike. She was also recognized for her creativity, designing corporate identities and artwork for major clients including Mary Kay, Plano ISD, Daltile Marazzi and many others, her work in this area will live long into the future.
Christie was a woman of remarkable resilience, she faced Breast Cancer head on and fought it valiantly for many years, she faced its challenges with courage and determination, fighting hard for the people and the life she loved. Her strength was not only seen in difficult moments but felt every day through her kindness, humor, and fierce protectiveness of her family, she never complained or gave up and her
steadfast determination in spite of the odds is an inspiration to all who knew her.
A second chance at marriage brought her a deep and loving partnership with her husband, Robin, making up for lost time, building a life filled with memories, companionship, and shared adventures. Together they created a home that welcomed friends, family, and four-legged companions alike, a place where warmth, stories, and laughter were always present.
Christie will be fondly remembered by all her Cabo family who spent so many memorable times enjoying the well-deserved breaks from her business. She also found peace and happiness at The Crooked Cabin, AKA Plumb Crazy, a little cabin on Big Woods Springs Lake in East Texas, a special place that reflected her spirit: genuine, comforting, and full of character. Whether surrounded by nature,
spending time with her beloved dogs, or simply enjoying quiet moments with those she loved, she embraced life fully and sincerely.
To her family, Christie was more than a wife, stepmother, daughter, sister and aunt, she was a source of strength, encouragement, and unconditional love. She stood strong for the people she cared about, offering support without hesitation and love without limits. Her presence made others feel safe, understood, and valued.
Christie will be remembered for her strong will, compassionate heart, and the lasting impact she made on everyone, fortunate enough to know her. Though she is deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the memories shared at family gatherings, in the comfort of home, and in the enduring love she helped create.
