Richard “Rick” Haught

Richard Haught, age 61, of Wylie, Texas, passed away in the early hours of Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 12:27 a.m. at Medical City in Plano Tx.

Richard was born in Waco, Texas,  on March 21, 1964, to Isaac Columbus Chamberlain 2nd and Virginia Christine “Ginger” Sirkel Chamberlain.

Richard was a graduate of Midway High School in Waco, Tx, in 1983. In 2006, Richard met his future wife Rhonda Housewright while working at Walmart. They married in 2008, and Richard began his life as a devoted husband and stepfather to Felicia Carrington.

His passion for Kiss; Ozzy Osborne, Star Wars, and The Simpsons were boundless. Throughout his life, he collected a vast assortment of collectible mementos from his passions, which became a lifelong hobby. 

Rick was a devoted Walmart employee for 21 years. He moved on to become a beer specialist for 3 years at Specs. When not at work, Rick demonstrated remarkable empathy towards animals. He was always willing to go to great lengths for animals in need. Always treating his fur-legged friends as a part of his family. 

Richard cherished his time with his family and friends. Richard is survived by the love of his life of 17 years, Rhonda Haught. 

He is also survived by: Stepdaughter- Felicia Carrington; step-granddaughter Vivianna Housewright; Adoptive parents: Father- Archie Nolan Haught, Mother- Violet “Nell” Sirkel Haught; Brother- Steve Haught  and wife Sharon, Nephew - Brian Haught and wife Megan ( and their children  Hayden & Hudson Haught), Nephew - Jeff Haught and wife  Jaclyn (and their child Julian Haught), Brother- David Haught, Cousins: Alan Bradley, Brenda Bradley Volling and husband John, Christie Bradley Minczewski and husband Brian, Mother-in-law-Joyce Housewright, Brother-in-law- Ronnie Housewright and his wife Heather ( and their children Christopher “Cj”  Housewright, his daughter Maddie Housewright, Katelyn Housewright, and Macie Young), Sister-in-law- Brittney Housewright and her children; Isabelle Brown, & Xander Rosier.

Richard was preceded in death by :His birth father-Isaac Columbus Chamberlain 2nd, his birth mother-  Virginia Christine “Ginger” Sirkel Chamberlain, his brother- Isaac Columbus Chamberlain 3rd, his sister - Belinda Ann Chamberlain and his Father-in-law- Edgar “Eddie” Housewright.

Richard will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at the Haught residence on  October 25, 2025, at 3 pm.
