Floyd Eugene Langley was born June 26, 1955 to Gerald and Dorothy (Stewart) Langley in Topeka, KS. He passed away in McKinney, TX at the age of 69 on July 12, 2024. Floyd studied Computer Science at The University of Kansas and had recently retired as a Senior Software Engineer for IBM after nearly 40 years.
He was an avid fan of the Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs, and KC Royals. He enjoyed a good popcorn action flick and was the biggest Star Wars fan. Floyd relished every opportunity to drive his Lexus convertible on the freeway with the top down, Diet Coke in hand.
He enjoyed traveling around the world and experiencing new things and this passion inspired him to take flying lessons. Floyd and Judy married in September of 1996. Their favorite travel destination was Maui, Hawaii and they visited often enough that it became like a second home to them. He also enjoyed his trip to Brazil in 2019 and often reminisced about how much fun he had with great company and excellent food.
He is preceded in death by his wife Judy, brother David, and daughter Tracy. Floyd is survived by his two brothers Bruce and Douglas (Colette), daughter Jennifer (Damian), and nieces Donna (Don), Alice Jill (Matt), and Sara (Apollo).
Floyd's family will be holding a private gathering in celebration of his life at a later date.
