Michael Spencer Wright
April 21, 1961 – September 26, 2026
Michael Spencer Wright, lovingly known as Mike, passed away on September 26, 2026, at the age of 65.
Mike was born on April 21, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, to Bill and Patsy Wright. The youngest of four children, he grew up in Plano after his family moved there in 1962. He graduated from Plano High School in 1979.
Mike never met a stranger. He could talk to absolutely anyone—and once he got started, he could talk your ear off. His outgoing spirit and gift for conversation brought people together and left those who knew him with countless stories to remember.
Above all, Mike was a devoted father to his three children, Jeremy, Kylie, and Addison. He was their supporter, their source of strength, and someone they could always turn to. He could be tough when he needed to be, but behind that toughness was a deep love and a determination to help his children become strong, capable people. His guidance, encouragement, and unwavering belief in them will remain with them always.
Golf was one of Mike’s greatest passions. He loved the game, the friendships, and the camaraderie he shared with fellow golfers. Among his proudest accomplishments was making three holes-in-one in a single year—a remarkable achievement and a story well worth telling. He was also an avid hunter who enjoyed spending time outdoors.
Mike began his career as a barber at an early age, following in his father’s footsteps. He later founded and operated Mike Wright Enterprises, building a successful business through hard work and dedication.
Mike is survived by his children, Jeremy, Kylie, and Addison; his sister, Angela Hayward; his brother, Randy Wright; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Patsy Wright, and his older brother, Billy “Bull” Wright.
Mike will be remembered for his love for his family, his strength, his endless conversations, and the friendships he made wherever he went. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his spirit will live on in his children and in every story shared by those who loved him.
We entrust Michael to the loving arms of our Lord, finding comfort in the hope that we will see him again.
“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”
—1 Thessalonians 4:14, KJV
