Michael Wylie Orr 

Michael Wylie Orr, 71, of Garland, Texas, passed away on September 03, 
2026. Mike fought hard but lost his long battle with COPD. 
He was born in Beeville, Texas on May 14, 1955, to John Wylie Orr and Willa
May Jean Fisher Orr. 
Mike was a committed construction worker for more than 30 years and took 
great pride in his work, but his greatest joy was always spending time with his 
family and friends and his fish. 
He loved spending time with his friends, attending drag racing, camping, and 
watching NFL, college and high school football. But his favorite was listening 
to the Rockwall Yellowjacket Football games on the radio or watching them in 
person. Mike was dedicated to his family and was the designated head chef for 
family events. 
Mike is survived by his sisters, Patricia Orr Flores and her husband James 
Flores and Kathleen Gay Harris and her husband Dr. Chris Harris, along with 
6 nieces and 2 nephews, Victoria Flores Lyon, Nicole Flores, Francie Harris, 
Michael John Harris, Gracie Harris, Sam Harris, Willow Harris, and Ella Ruth 
Harris and 1 grandnephew, Jimmy Lyon, and 2 grandniece, Claire Harris 
Berbett and Lilli Lyon.  
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wylie Orr and Jean Orr, his 
sister Debra Orr Chesterman, and his maternal and paternal grandparents, 
Herman and Ida Fischer, and Mable and Slim Dalton. 
A memorial will be held at Rockwall First United Methodist Church on 
Saturday, October 10, 2026 beginning at 11:00 am. The address is 1200 E. 
Yellow Jacket Lane, Rockwall, Texas 75087.
