MEGHAN LYN DICKINSON
11/09/1962 – 08/14/2026
On November 9, 1962 in Sedalia, Missouri, Joe Dickinson found a baby rabbit in the garden hiding under a head of lettuce. He took it inside and he and his kind wife Margaret cared for and tended to the little bunny. To their amazement and delight, as the bunny grew, it turned into a baby girl! The new child was named Meghan Lyn, although Joe also called her Bunrabbit. Meghan was loved and doted on by her new siblings, Shanon, Shawn and Brad. She loved this story so much and a bunny was forever her special symbol.
Meghan and her family moved to Huntsville, Alabama and then to Plano, Texas in 1970. She graduated from the only high school in Plano at that time, Plano High School. Her work history was eclectic, from children’s daycares to Luby’s, but her favorite job was waitressing at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre in Dallas. Meghan’s humor, kind heart, attitude and sense of drama endeared her to customers, cast members and employees, many of whom became longtime friends. She never met a stranger and always rooted for the underdog.
Meghan loved family get-togethers, dogs (especially Hazel) and cats, babies, laughing, buying gifts, Mexican food, reading, Rod Stewart and Judge Judy. She was always up for an outing, a new adventure, or just a good time with friends and family. Despite her many health issues over the past few years, she continued to have Hope.
Meghan’s partner of more than 30 years, Tim Rogers, passed away on May 7 and she joined him on August 14, 2026. Although we know that Mom, Dad, Tim, Brad, Hal and others are so happy to see her again, the rest of us will miss her every day.
Love you, Bunrabbit. Rest in peace.
