Waymon proudly served his country as a helicopter pilot in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He carried himself with courage, integrity, and a deep sense of duty, and his service reflected the strength of his character and his commitment to protecting others.
Above all else, Waymon loved the Lord. His faith was the foundation of his life, guiding his actions and giving him strength through every season. He lived with kindness, humility, and compassion, touching the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Waymon shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, his devoted wife, Lavonne Gauntt. Together they built a life centered on faith, love, and family. He was a proud and loving father to his daughter and a deeply cherished grandfather to four amazing grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and pride. His family was his greatest blessing, and he loved each of them more than words can express.
Waymon will be remembered for his gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and the example he set through a life of service, love, and sacrifice. His wisdom, strength, and unwavering love will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord he faithfully served throughout his life.
