Kenneth Joseph Carlson, Age:40

Kenneth was born May 11,1986 on Mother's Day morning in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to the Washington, DC area, where his younger sister was born. In 1988, the family moved to Minnesota. Even at the age of 5, Kenneth was a sports fan, and loved attending North Dakota State Bison games, no matter the temperature or the weather. Prior to starting the 4th grade, everyone moved to Plano, Texas, where Kenneth attended Faith Lutheran School. The rest of his education included time at Dallas Lutheran, Missouri Military Academy, Vines High School, and graduation from Plano Senior High School in 2005.

Kenneth's outgoing and gregarious personality always included a wide circle of friends. Within minutes of meeting someone new, he knew their life story, and he would quickly spark a relationship that might well last a lifetime. Sports were engrained into Kenneth's DNA. He played youth hockey and also club hockey as an adult. There was never a more fervent Minnesota Vikings fan than Kenneth. He could cite statistics and player bios from memory. Some things that will be missed most about Kenneth are his joy, hope, and eternal optimism that this year will be "their year" for the Vikings. He was equally passionate about NHL hockey and the Dallas Stars. He was up at 3AM with the rest of us when they finally won the Stanley Cup. He loved motor sports of every kind. A favorite memory is the look on his face the first time he saw Dale Earnhardt and the #3 car roll onto the track at Texas Motor Speedway.

In July 2014, Kenneth's whole world changed when he met Sandie Haeffner, his true love wrapped in a Star's jersey. They immediately bonded over their love for the Dallas Stars, live music, and their three children. They married in 2019. Kenneth adored being a husband and step-up-father to her 3 children. Kenneth's heart was made of love and it never shined more brightly than when he became a family man. Kenneth loved his family and children more than his love for the Dallas Stars and Minnesota Vikings combined, and that is saying a whole lot. His greatest joy in life was watching his children grow up and getting to celebrate every win and milestone with them.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his sister Ariella Carlson Hart, and he is survived by his wife Sandie Carlson, and children Zachary, Zoe, and Zane, his mother Rosa Rednour and stepfather Jay Rednour, his father Bradley Carlson and stepmother Rachel Carlson, brothers Donavan Rednour and Jacob Carlson.

Kenneth was taken from us far too soon, but the love he gave to all of us will endure. There will be a memorial service for Kenneth on Wednesday, July 22 at 11:00AM at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Plano. Everyone is welcome.
