Tennille Maria Cunningham, 48, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on June 18, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Tennille was born on February 21, 1978, in Riverside, California, and grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas. She dedicated 25 years of service to AT&T, where she built lasting friendships and touched the lives of many colleagues.
A passionate animal advocate, Tennille devoted much of her time to helping animals in need. She played an instrumental role in fostering and adoption efforts through Texas Pit Crew and proudly served as a board member. Her compassion, generosity, and unwavering love for animals made a lasting impact on her community.
Tennille was a vibrant personality who led each day with her sense of humor. She loved to play board games with her family and friends, frequently beating them without breaking a sweat. She built LEGOs, put together puzzles, and enjoyed cartoons that were quoted endlessly with finesse. She was able to think of a song for any occasion, leaving others in awe of her ability to connect hip hop music to ordinary situations. When Tennille was not stopping in the middle of the road to look at birds and raccoons, she enjoyed spending her time on cruises. She told the best stories and added priceless commentary that kept others engaged and amused. She was also the designated snack liaison, as she had great taste and liked to try new things. Her impact on others was as multi-faceted as she was. She was the first to volunteer her time, the first to protect those in need, and the first to make people laugh with her lively nature.
Tennille is survived by her loving wife, Sondra; their children, Zaden and Kolsyn; her sister, Tiffany; her brother, Wesley; her nieces, Py, Brittany, and Lauren; her great-nieces and nephew, Sophie, Lorelei, and Theodore; and dogs, Herbie and Baker.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pamela, and her brother, Wayne.
In accordance with Tennille's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Details will be shared with family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Texas Pit Crew of Wichita Falls, Texas, in memory of Tennille and her lifelong dedication to helping animals.
Tennille's kindness, love, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
