October 19, 1933 -- April 19, 2026

Patricia Berka, Age:92

This beautiful lady went to be with family who's gone on before on April
19, 2026. She passed peacefully in her sleep at the residence of her
older daughter in Garland, Texas. She had many accolades and many
successes in life as well as her fair share of downfalls which she
always overcame. She only wanted mentioned that she was a member of
Mensa but here is where I disobey that wish. She worked tirelessly for
an education, as her grandmother told her that was very important, and
achieved a master's degree from Texas Women's University in Denton,
Texas. While working she was interested in Toastmasters and participated
in that organization many years. She was reared in the gracious Southern
lady tradition and always found the positive side of any issues, never
complaining and always appreciative of all kindnesses shown her. She
liked classical music, played the harp, and was very creative in arts
and design. A big believer in healthy choices she only partook of
organic foods and natural remedies. It was because of her interest in
genealogy and membership in the DAR that her older daughter, Laura,
became engulfed in that pursuit. A charming lady who had good taste and
cherished nice things, she will be missed greatly.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law James and Pam Standefer
of College Station, Texas; two daughters, Laura Knight of Garland, Texas
and Teresa Knight of College Station, Texas; grandsons Kevin Kennedy and
life mate Victoria Hopper of Onalaska, Texas and Kirk Kennedy and wife
Michelle of Roseberg, Oregon; one granddaughter Kristi Petkoff and
husband Tony Petkoff of Bartlett, Tennessee; great-granddaughter Roxanne
Petkoff and great-grandson Anthony Petkoff, also of Bartlett, Tennessee;
three great -granddaughters Breanna, Emily and Madelyn Kennedy of
Austin, Texas; three nieces Donna Nowak of Bertram, Texas, Marcia Cox of
Hewitt, Texas, and Carolyn Miller of Troy, Texas. She was  predeceased
by her first husband Earl Knight of Odessa, Texas. Second husband was
Bill Berka of Lewisville, Texas.

A bright light in a shadowy world. She will be deeply missed.
