Charles Pressley Gross, Age:82

Charles Pressley Gross, age 82, passed away on February 5th, 2026 after a long illness.
Charles was born on November 20th, 1943, in Waco Texas to W.P. and Dorothy Redding Gross. Charles graduated from Waco High School in 1962. He earned a B.S. in Business from Baylor University. He and Barbara Williams were married on December 20, 1968.

Charles went into the grocery business with his father, and later owned and operated Gross Food Market on Flint Street and later on Dutton Avenue in Waco, Texas. He retired from the grocery business and worked for Pledger Construction for many years as the office manager. Charles and Barbara owned Bright Beginnings Daycare Center in Hewitt, Texas for a number of years.
After Charles retired, he enjoyed reading, watching classic westerns and was an avid gardener. He helped create the community garden at Creekside Baptist Church in Richardson, TX where he and his wife attended church. He enjoyed sharing his love of gardening with the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Thomas Gross, and infant brother William.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara Gross; his three children, son Stephen Gross and wife Anitra, daughter Stacey Romanenko and husband Peter, and son Andy Gross and wife Lorrinda; 5 grandchildren, Andrew Ramos and wife Katey, Avery Gross, Riley Gross, Aaron Gross, Blakely Gross; 1 great grandchild, Isaiah Ramos; aunt Sherry Redding; nephew Robert Gross, niece Amy Gross Anderson and several cousins.
Graveside service will be held in Waco, Texas at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 10:30 am
