Larry Allen Taylor, born December 8, 1946, in Akron, Ohio, passed away on December 16, 2025, in Richardson, Texas, surrounded by love.

Larry lived a life grounded in family, steadiness, and the quiet ways a good man shows up day after day. He was a devoted father whose presence was dependable and strong — not always loud, but always fully there. He worked hard, played hard, and loved hard, and he spoke of love in ways both simple and sincere. Those who knew him felt that love in the way he showed up, protected, provided, and cared.

He gave great advice — the kind that was practical, honest, and offered when it mattered most. It came from lived experience, common sense, and a deep desire to see the people he loved do well.

Larry was proud to be a veteran, a source of identity and honor that shaped his sense of duty throughout his life. He carried that commitment forward through continued service to others, including his role as 5th District Commander of the American Legion and his deep involvement with Jackson-Hughes American Legion Post 368, reflecting his belief in service, responsibility, and investing in the next generation.

He definitely had opinions — and you always knew exactly where he stood. Sharing them was part of how he showed up, connected, and cared. He also loved to stir the pot — always in the best possible way — and was a good kind of grumpy, complete with dry humor, raised eyebrows, and a heart that was always in the right place. His humor, timing, and knowing looks brought levity to serious moments and laughter to ordinary days.

He believed in doing things right, caring deeply for the people he loved, and finding meaning in the simple, everyday moments that make a life. He loved giving back, and that generosity was woven into how he lived.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Mayne.
He is survived by his daughter, L. Alexis Taylor; his son, Matthew Parks, and daughter-in-law Amanda; grandchildren Chance, Zaine, and Sebastian; and stepdaughter Grace Mayne.
Services will be held Friday, February 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery, with a memorial gathering to follow at Jackson‑Hughes American Legion Post 368 in Richardson, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in support of American Legion Boys State through Jackson-Hughes American Legion Post 368.

He will be remembered with gratitude, love, laughter, respect, and just a touch of snark as is befitting.
