Donna Lee Bunyard Bruner passed away peacefully in Dallas, Texas on January 6, 2026, of complications from Alzheimer’s, surrounded by her loving family. She was 80 years old.
Donna was born on September 8, 1945 in Dallas, Texas to Claud Lee “Bunny Rabbit” Bunyard, Jr. and Doris Eloise “Deecy” Bunyard.
She was the second of three children: Lynlee Bunyard, Donna Lee Bunyard, and Sheryl Dee Bunyard. Donna graduated from South Oak Cliff High School, where she served as Lieutenant of the Golden Debs precision dance drill team. She married her high school sweetheart in 1965
and together they had two beautiful daughters, Dawn Suzanne and Tammy Dee-Ann.
While raising her daughters, Donna had a long, successful career with Foremost and Schepps Dairies, following in the footsteps of her father. After she retired from the dairy business, Donna continnued to be active, delighting young children as a preschool teacher’s assistant.
Donna’s pride and joy in this life were also her greatest accomplishments: her daughters and grandchildren. More
than anything, she loved spending time with her family. She treasured her time with her dear, beloved sister, Sheryl – whether they were together with the family, or simply enjoying watching songbirds in the backyard with their dogs, Lily, Lucy, and Mindi Lou. Donna’s beauty, grace, and humility were matchless, and everyone who knew her was blessed. She loved deeply, gave and forgave generously, and loved laughter with her family.
Donna is survived by her beloved daughters Dawn Runte (Tim) and Tammy Neal (Bryan); her sister, Sheryl Dee Bunyard, and grandchildren Jordyn Runte, Lucas Runte, and Dawson Neal. She is preceded in death by her father, Claud Lee Bunyard, Jr.; her mother, Doris Eloise Bunyard; and her brother, Lynlee Bunyard.
We rejoice that Donna now enjoys new life in the presence of Jesus, her Lord and Savior. Please join us in the celebration of her life Saturday, January 17. The weather is forecast to be clear and cool. Please wear happy colors in honor of her; if you like, feel free to dress in green, the color of life, which was Donna’s favorite color.
