Gentle, fun-loving, inquisitive, and deeply kind, Jay was a man whose life centered on faith, family, and service. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, he is survived by his beloved wife Fely, his children Florina, Tristan, and Jennifer, his granddaughter Viviane, and his siblings Maria, Noel, and Ronald. Loved by all who knew him, Jay built a life marked by generosity, humility, and quiet strength.
A man of great faith, Jay served for many years as an elder of Jehovah’s Witnesses, teaching Bible principles both through his ministry and through his everyday example. He loved working alongside his wife Fely, helping others to study the Bible and learn about Jehovah. He found joy in serving and strengthening others. Jay will be remembered by many for his self sacrifice and zeal for the ministry.
A software engineer for decades, he also found joy in tinkering with cars, good food, music, and karaoke. He cherished cruises with his wife, bowling with friends, building model airplanes, watching Korean dramas and nostalgic films, and taking peaceful walks with Fely. In his younger years, he created lasting family memories on long road trips by encouraging his children to sing musicals and perform theatrics to keep him awake as he drove.
Jay will be remembered as a gentle giant, warm with his humor, and endlessly thoughtful of others. He had a natural ability to make friends wherever he went, offering kind or comic words to everyone from longtime friends to everyday strangers. He adored spending time with his granddaughter, who carries forward his legacy of loving kindness, musicality, and distaste for bittermelon. His life is a beautiful testament of love, faith, and the quiet power of a good man who made the world better simply by being in it.
