Joy Darlene Bonneau of The Colony, Texas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at the age of 88. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Edel Bonneau and the devoted mother to 2 sons. She was born on July 19, 1937 in Hastings, Oklahoma to Clyde Edmon Cheatham and Ola Ruth Clevenger Cheatham. Joy went by her middle name, Darlene, and was known for her kindness, sense of humor and lack of speaking filter. She graduated from Grapevine High School and dedicated her life to her family, always being there when a Snap-On Tools order needed to be delivered or a grandchild needed to be babysat with a listening ear and warm hug. Her passion for sewing and reading brought her joy and was a source of her creativity.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Karen Kay Cheatham Boydston, her brother Eddie Lynn Cheatham and her grandchild Jaqueline Nicole Bonneau. She is survived by her children Randall Bonneau and Ronald Bonneau, 5 grandchildren Lauren Bonneau, Jordan Bonneau, Dylan Bonneau, Chad Bonneau, Cody Bonneau and 1 great grandchild Jaxson Bonneau.

A memorial service will be held on November 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM at West Hill Cemetery, 1304 W. Lamar St. & S. Woods St., Sherman, Texas, 75092. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cane Rosso Rescue (puppy dog rescue) in her honor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her
