On September 5th, 2025, George Bentley, a vibrant 82-year-old from Dallas, TX, stepped into eternity with a joyful heart.
Born on April 12, 1943, in Jacksboro, TX, George lived a life filled with love, adventure, and unwavering faith. For 59 beautiful years, he shared an incredible journey with his beloved wife, Bobbie Bentley, building a legacy of devotion and joy. A proud Texas A&M graduate of 1968, George kicked off his career with nearly a decade at JCPenney’s business office before embarking on a remarkable 40-year adventure as an insurance agent.
His passion for serving others shone brightly at Woodcreek Church, where he was a dedicated member and volunteer for 45 years, touching countless lives with his generosity and spirit. George was a true adventurer at heart, cherishing moments spent camping with family and friends, roaring through the woods on trail-riding motorcycles, and gathering everyone around his legendary, larger-than-life campfires. When he wasn’t making memories with loved ones, George poured his energy into serving others, Boy Scouts, Awana, attending men’s events, retreats, prayer meetings, and Bible studies. It was at one of the first “Promise Keepers” events that God ignited a fire in George’s soul, a light that blazed brightly, inspiring everyone around him until his final day. George’s love for the Lord was the heartbeat of his life, and his faith radiated hope and warmth to all who knew him.
He leaves behind his cherished wife, Bobbie, his sons, James and John, his daughter-in-law, Mary, and his granddaughter, Mattea, along with a community forever uplifted by his kindness and spirit. George’s legacy of love, faith, and adventure will continue to shine as a beacon of hope for all who were blessed to know him.
