Johnny Ray Gill, 65, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on March 31, 2025.
Johnny spent most of his life working with his hands as a skilled mechanic and construction worker, and poured the same care and dedication into everything. Whether fixing engines or crafting beautiful works of art from wood, Johnny had a gift for making things better. He found joy in the simple pleasures: casting a line at the lake, sharing a good meal of Cajun food, and surrounding himself with the people he loved most.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mary Buchanan and Kenneth Gill, beloved Dianna Strickland, brother: Huck Gill, Brother-in-Law Glenn Davis, and Don Gill. He is also
Above all else, Johnny was a devoted family man. He is survived by his daughter, Billiejo Adams, and son-in-law Chris Adams, step-daughter Heather Jordan and Son-in-Law Brian, Step-Son Blaine Morris, and daughter-in-law Gina, as well as his beloved grandchildren: Alice, Logan, Koby, Kaleb, Makayla, who brought him endless pride and happiness. He is survived by his beloved Great-Grandchildren: Skylar, Noah, Penelope, and Jaxson.
He is also survived by his sisters, Susan, Nicky, and Dinky and husband Richard,his brothers, Tommy and wife Cassandra ; and a large, loving extended family of nieces and nephews: Krista, Mary and Husband Connor, Amanda, Kelsey, Jessica and Husband Shawn, Tiffany, Kaci, Ashley, Dorothy, Daisy, Tommy, Jean, Edward Glen, Jimmy and wife Summer , Kenneth and wife Kaci, Keiden, James. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews: Bayleigh, Leo, Remington Stone, Rhett Huck, Easton, Everleigh, Stetson,Levi, Boots, Hagen. Haryln,Lulu and Dawson Allen
Johnny’s warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on in the memories he helped create, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely.
A celebration of life will be held May 4, 2025, from 2-6 pm at First McKinney Baptist Church to celebrate Johnny’s life and honor the impact he made on those around him.
