It is with profound sadness and sorrow we announce the passing of Daniel Lee Salazar, age 62, of Weatherford, TX, on March 10, 2025.
He died during his sleep at a hospice facility in Mesquite, TX, under the care of Ramona Charlenes Angels Group Home. His cremains will be placed near his mother at Curtis Cemetery in Weatherford, TX. A private memorial will be held with his brothers and sisters in attendance. May Daniel’s soul rest in eternal peace, Amen.
Daniel was born on September 16, 1962, to Benito A. and Mary Salazar in Snyder, TX. He was the seventh born of twelve children.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Benito A. and Mary Salazar; his sisters, Mary Ann Valdez, Susie Morales and Refugia (Cuca) Salazar; and his brother, David Salazar.
Daniel is survived by his sisters, Virginia Jewell, Benita Cantu, Anita Trejo and Gloria Hernandez; and his brothers, Feodor Salazar, Jonathan Salazar and Gregory Salazar.
Daniel spent the last decade of his life in nursing homes, rehab centers and group homes. He suffered from many health problems including heart-related illness and cancer. And even though Daniel also struggled in a lifelong battle with schizophrenia, he remained firm in his belief in God’s ever-present love and grace. He greeted everyone with, “Jesus loves you!” May Daniel dwell forever in God's new heaven and new earth.
