It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Burk, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on January 23, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on November 17, 1938, John lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to his family. He had been a resident of Plano since 1980.
John was a loving and supportive husband to his wife, Jeanne, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a strong partnership, filled with love, respect, and shared memories. From raising two daughters to enjoying quiet moments at home, their bond was the foundation of John’s life. Their enduring love for each other was evident in every aspect of their relationship, and John was incredibly grateful for the life they built together.
John and Jeanne raised two daughters, Jennifer and Jinger. As a father, John’s unwavering love and guidance shaped their lives, and he took immense pride in watching his daughters grow into the remarkable women they are today.
John’s happiness grew with the addition of Jennifer’s husband, Christian, and their two children, Taylor and Skyler. He was further blessed when Jinger and her husband, Brian, welcomed their two children, Kate and Luke. His grandchildren brought great joy to his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
John is also survived by his brother, Bill, and his niece, Rene Welch, and her husband, David. His love and laughter touched the hearts of all his family members, and his presence will be greatly missed.
Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, John had the remarkable ability to bring a smile to everyone he met. Whether he was telling a funny story, sharing a joke, or simply offering a word of encouragement, his laughter filled every room he entered. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely.
A celebration of John’s life will be held for family on February 22 at 10:30 AM. Friends are welcome to join the family at the home of Jinger and Brian Kennedy from 3:00 to 6:00 PM on the same day for a come-and-go gathering to share memories and celebrate his life.
