Kameron Colton Couts, of Plano, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, completely surrounded with love. Kam was a loving, kind, and dedicated husband, brother, son and friend. His jokes and compassion for those around him will always be missed.
Born on June 18, 1989, in Kansas City, Missouri, he is survived by his wife, Lilly and dog, Ollie. Parents Kelly Heiman and Tawn Couts, siblings Connor Jones and Katherine Jones. Grandparents Dan and Bonnie Pozycki. Kameron is preceded in death by his Uncle Michael Todd Pozycki.
Kam’s perseverance was most apparent when he diligently completed both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, while working full time to support his aspirations. He sat for his CPA exam and passed all four tests on first try with nothing lower than a 90, a feat envied by those around him, and an example of how well he excelled at anything he put his mind to.
It was during his time attending school and working at Heritage Ranch that Kam met the love of his life, Lilly. During a beautiful nine years together and three years married they traveled, laughed and unwaveringly supported each other. From sunsets in Riviera Maya on their honeymoon to deep sea fishing in Cape Cod, and enjoying the views from a helicopter over the Grand Canyon, they always cherished every moment together. But more than scenic views, Kam and Lilly enjoyed the beauty in the little things in life - taking long walks with Ollie, game nights with friends, Life Group gatherings, family dinners, and ice cream runs on summer nights.
Kam bravely fought a stage IV cancer diagnosis for 13 months, never letting it get in the way of doing the things he loved. He spent many days playing a round, or two, of golf with friends, going to the driving range and watching any sport he could find. Kam was always courageous, and never complained. On December 23rd at 6:18 AM he victoriously entered the arms of Jesus; resting in an eternal body, free from cancer forever.
A visitation and Celebration of Life will be held at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship Church in Carrollton, TX. Visitation will be on Friday, January 24th from 5:00-7:00 PM and a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, January 25th at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kameron Couts Memorial Fund. These funds will be used for a memorial bench at his favorite golf course, a donation to Bent Tree Bible’s Young Families Fund and potential scholarships.

Lilly there are no words to describe what you might be feeling. There aren’t enough tools to give you the best advice. In fact I don’t know if this will even begin to be remotely helpful. I haven’t known you both long but from the time we started chatting it was undeniable the relationship you and Kam had was something special. Being a wedding planner and seeing people’s once in a lifetimes frequently, I can honestly say a magic moment doesn’t happen often. The intentionality of your relationship was so magnetic that you could feel the joy it brought to all your family and everyone around you. Both of you are a wonderful gift and I’m humbly honored to have witnessed your commitment to each other. Lilly, I know Kam is so proud to have a wife that loves him prior to his sickness, supporting him during and loving unconditionally after. To your family, I’m praying for each of you as you go through a new transition. If there is sincerely anything I can do to be of service I am happy to help. Love you Lilly girl! With love and grace, Katie Waara

He was a wonderful young man and left us way too young. It was obvious how much he loved you, Lilly. I know he will always watch over you from Heaven just as he did in this life. My prayers are with you and your family. I am so sad I won’t be at his Celebration of life as I will be out of town. I truly want to be there. Please know you’ll be in my thoughts and prayers that day. God Bless you sweet little Lilly.
