Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Vaughn, age 74 passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Liz is preceded in death by her parents Billy and June Oldham, and her previous husband Durward Richard Vaughn.
Liz is survived by her husband Terry Voorhis of 40 years, siblings Sharon Chesson and Marvin Oldham, children Kristal Vaughn Gonzales, Shane Vaughn, Guy Voorhis, and Crystal Thompson, grandchildren Hayden Pallett, Nikita Gonzales, Karlie Gonzales, Jaycob Vaughn, Kayliegh Vaughn, Colton Voorhis, Makenzie Voorhis, Charlis Motahari, Amber Luft, and Sarah Tillman, along with 14 great-grandchildren.
Liz was a loving and caring person, a devoted wife, mother, “Nana”, sister, and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.” She was the cornerstone of our family and loved spending time with and cooking for her family and friends. Trying to put into words a description of this amazing lady is beyond difficult since she is and always will be the heartbeat of our family.
We will be having a small celebration of life for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
An Angel
An angel lived among us,
A gift from God above,
She showered us with kindness
And she shared with us her love.
She cherished every moment
With the man who was her life;
Walking hand and hand together,
Facing life with all its strife.
She loved her children dearly,
Each one a different way,
Nestled close within her heart.
Though, now, she’s far away.
She’s gone to live with Jesus.
But, she’s here with us, today,
Smiling down on every one of us,
And telling us she’s O.K.
