Bonnie Lee Johns of Wylie, TX passed away December 6, 2024, at the age of 84.  Bonnie was born on April 23, 1940 in Chicago, IL, to Paul and Lillian Borik.

Bonnie spent 65 wonderful years with the love of her life and beloved husband, Walter Preston Johns and they had one daughter, Marilyn, who was her pride and joy.  Bonnie truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive and her generosity knew no bounds.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and her sense of humor and smile brightened every room she entered.  She enjoyed cooking for her friends and family, laying out at the pool and shopping (JC Penney was her favorite place).  She and Wally spent 12 wonderful retirement years in Florida where she loved line dancing, clogging and bible study.   She lived life to the fullest and most of all loved spending time with her family and friends.

Bonnie is survived by her husband Walter Johns; her daughter, Marilyn Schmucker and son-in-Law Mark; granddaughter Brooke (Clint) Marsolek, grandson Jeremy (Kristin) Schmucker; great- grandchildren, Brittany (Tyler), Bradley, Londyn, Ashton, David, Stella, Eliana, Emily and Preston.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a great-granddaughter Sophia Schmucker, and all her siblings Michael Borik, Patricia Ryan, Beverly Michaelson, Paul Borik, and Penny Cincotti.

Although Bonnie is gone, we know that she is dancing in Heaven with Jesus and her family that has gone before her.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Alzheimer’s Association. 

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 13^th @ 2 pm at Woodcreek Church @ 3400 E. Renner Rd., Richardson, TX.
