Marilyn Day Haygood, 84, passed away peacefully in McKinney, TX with her family by her side.
Marilyn was born on February 23, 1940 in Paradise Valley, Oklahoma, the daughter of Walter A. Day and Myrtle Casey Day. She graduated from Ball High School in Galveston, TX and went on to work for American Airlines for many years while traveling the world. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, aunt and friend, known for her hard work and philanthropy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Millard Day, sister Rubye Plumbtree, and sister Lois Wallace. She is survived by her daughters Joy Anderson of McKinney, TX and Holly Jones of Stillwater, OK, her husband Melvyn Haygood, son-in-law Bradley Anderson, 5 grandchildren (Cayden, Emerson, Finley, Stone and Greyson) and her many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Ruth and Mary at Paradigm Home Health and the nurses from Vera Hospice for their compassionate care during Marilyn’s final year.
A graveside service will be planned for Spring of 2025 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton, OK.
