Gary Lynn Norris, born on July 8, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, passed away on October 11, 2024, in Royse City, Texas. He was a devoted uncle and an enthusiastic supporter of his great nephews, finding immense joy in watching them play sports. Gary had a deep passion for basketball and football, often spending his time engrossed in anything sports-related on television.

He is survived by his father, Wilbert Lee Norris, his sister Sandra Sue Smallwood, and brother Steven Lee Norris and his beloved niece: 

Tamra Sue and her husband Jason Staten, great nephews: Taylor Staten and his wife Kirstyn, Trent Staten and his wife Kadence, and Toby Staten and his wife Katlyn, and his great-great nephew Brody Staten.

 

Gary's pride in his family was evident, and he always made sure to be there for the boys, impacting their lives with his unwavering support and encouragement. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Norris. Gary will be remembered for his love of family and his spirited enthusiasm for sports.
