Gilbert O. Barajas, Age:66

Gilbert O. Barajas was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him in his life.

He was born to Gilbert and Mary Barajas on 07/11/1958 in Dallas, TX, and was raised along with his 3 siblings in Italy, TX. After graduating high school, he attended the University of Texas Arlington where he graduated as a double-major in Psychology and History.
Gilbert had the biggest heart for his family, both blood family and family by marriage. He was a family man, and was one of the first in line to hold a newborn brought into the family when the opportunity presented itself. As these babies grew up around the age of 2-4 , they would bescared of him because of how he looked and how tall he was, and he would use that to his advantage to pretend to scare them, and would just laugh it off; he didn't let that bother him since he knew that it was just a phase, and once they got over it they would come back around. He loved his two daughters, and always reassured them that he was proud of them. He adored his grandson, and was always optimistic that once he was able to walk again, he would take him to go fishing.

He was a good man with a genuine heart that this world, and those who knew him, did not deserve; a man who saw the homeless asking for
money, and would offer to buy them a meal instead of feeding into their bad habits. A man who loved to share his children’s accomplishments and talents to those closest to him. A man who said that he would rather be cremated and have his ashes scattered out than buried because of the simple fact there are more people being born into this world, and would want to give more space on Earth to honor their wishes.  Overall, he was a man who had a big heart, and not asking for a dime in return.

He was preceded in death by his father Gilbert Barajas (02/05/2024), and was survived by his daughters Rosemarie and Alexis, his mother Mary, his brother Robert, his two sisters Rosemary and Rachel, and his grandson. Although his departure leaves a void, he will forever be
remembered, and honored. I pray that he is given a second chance in heaven, and is enjoying his afterlife without the pain and suffering.
