Isolde Baksa, Age:99

Isolde, or “Izzy” Baksa as her local friends called her, lived a very colorful life. She was born October 31st, 1924 in Lodz Poland. “Izzy” spent her time as a small girl learning to play piano, participate in various sports, and unfortunately surviving the challenges of living in the hot bed of WWII action. She eventually settled in Chicago, IL, where she met her husband Louis and had 2 children (Peter & Ron). She spoke 4 languages and loved to travel, often to places where she could practice speaking with the local residents. Isolde had many challenges along the way, but would tell you that she found great comfort and a home with her friends at the Senior Center, and Christian Center Family Church.

I’m so sorry that your mother is not with us anymore, but she is in the present of the Lord. I met your mother through Diane and I read her book. I grew up in Poland so we shared about country, people, food. I saw you mother in June when she was laying down on sofa because of swollen leg. I’m so glad to pray with her and assure her of salvation. She allowed me to see that I can go on and be active like she was doing swimming and bicycling. She amaze me with her activities ! I’m sure will be hard to not see your mother but if you believe in Jesus you will be with her soon too ! With love Elizabeth Curylo ( polish friend )

Dear Ron & Peter, Chuck & I Loved and Appreciated your Mother So Much! She so loved my Chuck & was shocked when she heard of his passing March 25, 2021! I last visited her before I had to move June 28th from the rental house I was in after Chuck’s passing! I was planning to take her flowers tomorrow (on her 100 birthday) but I thought I’d better call first!! Then I discovered our Izzy had joined my Chuck!! We so APPRECIATED HER LIFE & AS TOLD IN HER BOOK, which I couldn’t put down & shared with many! Peter & Ron, I pray for comforting Angels to be sent to you both! She was SO proud of you both & LOVED YOU SO MUCH!! Shalom to you both, CHRIST BLESSINGS! Diane Alexander
