It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Elica Mead, who departed this earth on the morning of April 11th, 2024. She was the epitome of kindness and sweetness, leaving behind a profound impact on all who knew her.
Elica is survived by her devoted partner of 20 years, Braden Johnsen, her cherished daughters Amanda and Bethany, along with their spouses Chase and Copley. She was adored by her grandchildren Kaylie, Krystin, Aniya, Pharaoh, Dakota, Carter, Maddox, Honor, Copley Jr., Logan, River, and Croix. Elica is also survived by her siblings Debbie and Jesse Gonzales, Frank and Veronica Mead, and Ralph and Bille Mead, as well as a loving multitude of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Elica possessed a fierce love for everyone she encountered and was always ready to offer a helping hand. She raised her daughters with independence and instilled in them a strong sense of self. Her presence was a source of comfort, offering kind words and sound advice to all who sought it.
In addition to her unwavering love for her family, Elica had a passion for rescuing cats. Her beloved feline companions, Oreo, Gracie, and Tyson, held a special place in her heart, becoming her children after her own had grown.
Elica’s departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She has been welcomed into heaven by her mother, Jeanne, and father, Franklyn.
A celebration of Elica’s life is tentatively scheduled for Friday, April 19th. Further details regarding location and arrangements will follow soon. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kitty Save Lewisville are appreciated, honoring Elica’s passion for rescuing cats kittysave.org
