Betty doesn’t dwell in McKinney, Texas any longer. She recently moved into a beautiful new home on February 6, 2024, prepared especially for her by Jesus himself, who said “that where I am, there you may be also.” Thank you Jesus, for your sacrifice on this earth that we may live with you forever.

Betty was born near Cisco, Texas on May 3, 1929, to Garland and Ruby Lasater. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister and brother. She had several jobs in her working years, but her longest and most rewarding was as a school secretary at Goliad Elementary in her much loved, Odessa, Texas.

She was a long time member of Belmont Baptist Church in Odessa and a more than 50-year member of the Esther Sunday School Class and dearly loved those ladies. She enjoyed her pretty, flower filled yard, golf at Sunset Country Club and loved celebrating Christmas with her friends and family.

Despite poor health in her later years, she remained a positive, happy and loving influence who continued teaching us all until her last days.

She is survived by her children Mitch, Rusty and Cindy, 3 grandaughters Tiffani, Marcy and Holly, 8 great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

We are forever grateful to the kind staff at Baybrooke Village in McKinney and to Emily, her hospice nurse.
