Ray (Radar) Dyer left us peacefully, on January 19, 2024, at the age of 71.
Radar was born Ray Thomas Alexander in Justin, Texas. He was a complex, smart, self-made man who conquered many challenges and was tenacious in his quest for life.
He broke and trained horses on his adopted family’s farm before he was a teenager, became a welder in high school, served in the Air Force during Viet Nam, then took his technical skills to Dallas, and worked for many well-known corporations. He started a construction company and later became a certified appraiser for disaster location property losses.
Radar was a talker! He was a total car, truck and motorcycle guy, loved and studied history, made friends easily, told jokes every day…sometimes the same ones…listened to his rock and country music daily, and cherished his State of Texas.
When we think of him, we remember his adoration for all kids and animals, especially for his beloved dogs, Bea and Dandy, and of the beautiful relationship he had with his grandchildren, what he often expressed as his life’s gift.
Radar will truly be missed by us all. He wouldn’t want us to be sad for long…he wants us to remember the countless good times…and that’s a promise we can keep.

I did not know "Radar" very well. The only reason being DISTANCE...Donnie & Ray in Texas, I in Ohio. HOWEVER, I know Donnie VERY well❣️. We go WAY BACK and have lived some SIGNIFICANT life experiences TOGETHER. That said, THIS particular "life experience" was, perhaps, the most MOVING and HEARTFELT❣️ Donnie's efforts to love, support and comfort Ray were REMARKABLE!!! I was fortunate enough to live through most days of Ray's "last journey" with Donnie...a TRUE GIFT to ME❣️ My heart goes out to all who loved and supported Ray, ESPECIALLY DONNIE...whom I LOVE ❤️. R.I.P. DEAR RAY ☮️✌️🫶
