Saginaw, Texas - Gordon Roger Cash Jr., affectionately known as "Buddy," passed away peacefully at his
home in Saginaw, Texas, on May 31, 2023, at the age of 65. He fought a courageous battle with cancer,
displaying immense strength and resilience throughout his journey.
Buddy was born on February 5, 1958, in the vibrant city of Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was the
beloved son of Gordon Rodgers Cash and Rita Marie Cash. Growing up, Buddy shared a special bond with
his sister, Theresa J. Cash. As a child, he developed a passion for baseball, spending countless hours on
the field, playing the sport he adored.
During his formative years, Gordon attended Acton-Boxboro Regional High School, where he completed
his studies and graduated in 1976. Shortly thereafter, Buddy answered the call to serve his country and
joined the Army. He served his nation until his honorable discharge in 1982. His military service instilled
in him a sense of discipline and devotion, qualities that stayed with him throughout his life.
After completing his service, he attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, Florida
studying aviation and aeronautical programs. During his time at the university, he also earned his pilot
license, a testament to his skill and love for taking to the skies. Buddy pursued a career as an Airframe &
Powerplant Mechanic. His dedication and expertise earned him well-deserved recognition in the
industry. He was admired by his colleagues for his meticulous work and problem-solving skills. Buddy's
commitment to excellence was a testament to his unwavering work ethic.
In the beautiful journey of life, Buddy discovered profound love and companionship with Francisca
Martinez. Their hearts entwined, they joyfully exchanged vows on October 11, 1995, forging a bond that
would become the bedrock of their family. United in love, they built a warm and nurturing home,
brimming with affection, laughter, and treasured moments. Through the highs and lows, Gordon and
Francisca stood by each other's side, offering unwavering love and support. Their union was a testament
to the power of devotion and the enduring strength of their shared commitment.
Gordon was a dedicated and loving father to his children, Roger Cash, Curtis Valeriano Cash, and his
beloved wife, Isabel Nicole Cash. He cherished every moment spent with them, offering guidance,
support, and unwavering love. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he adored his
grandson, Gordon "Buddy" David Cash.
Family held a place of utmost significance in Buddy's life, and he treasured the deep relationships he had
with his parents, Gordon Rodgers Cash and Rita Marie Cash. He held his grandparents, Beulah Cash,
Curtis Walker Cash, Joseph Mack, and Irene Mack, in high regard, appreciating the wisdom and legacy
left behind. Buddy nurtured strong connections with his extended family, spanning across Massachusetts
and Texas. From heartfelt gatherings and shared laughter to the comfort of knowing he was surrounded
by loved ones, the bonds he forged with his extended family remained steadfast until the very end. Their
unwavering presence and love brought solace and strength, leaving an indelible impact on Buddy's
journey.
In addition to his professional accomplishments and devotion to his family, Buddy possessed an
unwavering enthusiasm for life. He enjoyed giving and receiving love from his Chiweenie’s, Penny,
Brownie and Chiquita. He had a warm and friendly demeanor that endeared him to everyone he met.
Buddy's presence would light up a room, and his infectious laughter brought joy to those around him. He
will be remembered for his kind heart, his generosity, and his ability to make people feel heard and
loved.
The funeral arrangements for Buddy are being managed by All Texas Cremation in Dallas, Texas. Although
Gordon's physical presence may no longer be with us, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of
those who knew and loved him.
Gordon Roger Cash Jr. will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire all who were
fortunate enough to have known him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his family and friends
