Virginia “Jenny” Martha Warhol Dunlavy, a long time resident of Richardson, died on Saturday, May 13, at the Grace Town Residential Care Home in Allen, where she and her husband, John, were living. Virginia was born on December 14, 1927 to Joe and Martha Kanieski Warhol, in Marlin, Texas. She started school in Marlin and graduated from Marlin High School in 1946. Upon graduation, she moved to Dallas and went to Business school and later worked for General Electric Credit. On June 6, 1953, she married John E. Dunlavy in Galveston, Texas and later moved to Richardson. Their daughter, Genna Glee “Gigi”, was born on March 16, 1960. Virginia was very active in the raising of Gigi and very supportive of all her activities. Virginia was an active member of the Saint Paul of Apostle Church Women’s Guild where she received Woman of the Year in 2002. She enjoyed volunteering at the then Richardson Hospital and was part of the TOPS group for many decades, where she held many offices. Virginia was crazy about bridge. She was serious, competitive and knew the game forwards and backwards. Her group traveled from site to site for tournaments. She was an aunt and great aunt who supported her nieces and nephews throughout the years. She enjoyed reading, visiting with family and friends and singing. She had a beautiful singing voice.
Virginia is preceded in death by her daughter, Genna Glee “Gigi” McFarlane, her parents, Joe and Martha Kanieski Warhol and 2 brothers, Marion and Eugene Warhol.
Virginia is survived by her husband, John, son in law Mike McFarlane of Chapala, Mexico, a granddaughter, Jennifer Tacca and great granddaughter Emmalene, of Wylie and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
