Norma ‘Earlene’ Shelburn of Princeton, Texas passed away surrounded by family Sunday April 30, 2023 at Baylor Scott and White McKinney, at the age of 74.
Earlene was born September 1948 in Idabel, Oklahoma to Henry Earl Phillips and Violet Hazel Parnell, being the third of four daughters.
Both her parents preceded her in death, as well as her husband, Raymond F. Shelburn (c. 2010)
Earlene’s faith in the Lord was pure, simple, and inspiring as she lived a worry-free life.
She is remembered for her feisty, charitable spirit. Naps, TV, and food were the highlights in her day, with Taco Bell, cafés, and white chocolate mochas being a few of her favorites. Veteran’s Day was a day she honored well, sitting at Applebee’s, eating while thanking all the vets that came through the doors. Earlene also prayed for and supported the sweet lil’ children being treated at St. Jude. Never did she meet a stranger, would give the shirt off her back, and was a ‘mom’ to many.
The family welcomes donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A memorial fund has been created in Earlene’s honor: raise.stjude.org/earlenesbabies or by calling: (800) 608-3023.
A celebration of Earlene’s life will be held in the atrium at Cottonwood Creek Church on May 27, 2023 at 12:00 p.m.
