Orpha Garza, Age:86

Orpha Vazquez Garza, affectionately known as Granny Bear, was peacefully transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior on April 21, 2023, at the age of 86. She was born on July 15,1936, in Cd. Valles, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Lydia Ortiz Vazquez and Moises Vazquez Altamirano. Orpha was predeceased by her parents, Jerry Leonard Robison, Hector Garza Flores and sister, Minerva Valadez.

 

Orpha is lovingly remembered by her five children: Donna Robison Guajardo, Anna Patricia Garza, Lucilla Garza, Sarah Elizabeth Garza, and Carlos Garza III, sons-in-law Aaron Guajardo, Chris Garza and Keith Weeks, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

 

Orpha lived in Dallas, Texas, and Cancun, Mexico. Orpha was a devoted Christian and a long-time member of First Baptist Dallas. She was known for her unwavering faith and kind heart. Orpha was a well-respected floral designer in Dallas, working at Lakewood Florist, Harry Bullard Florist and A Touch of Class Florist. She had a creative eye for design and an exceptional talent for bringing beauty into people's lives.

 

In her free time, Orpha enjoyed gardening, preparing homemade meals for her family, and going to the beach in Cancun and Galveston. She was a woman of simple pleasures who found joy in spending time with loved ones and pursuing her passions.

 

Orpha will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her deep love, smile and infectious laugh left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was a pillar of strength and an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

 

A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Dallas where Orpha was a beloved member, to honor and remember the wonderful life she lived. We take comfort in knowing that she is at peace and reunited with her loved ones in Heaven. Rest in peace Granny Bear
