Margaret "Rosie" Maddox passed away in Rockwall, Texas on March 31, 2023 at the age of 66 years.

Rosie was born March 1957 in Breckenridge, Texas to John "Jack" and Mary Helzlsouer. The fifth of nine daughters, she was devoted to her family above all else her whole life. A lifelong keen learner, Rosie excelled academically. She graduated valedictorian from Electra High School in 1975 and pursued nursing at Midwestern State University and the University of Texas at Arlington. She is remembered as an exceptional and profoundly gifted nurse. Her career in nursing led her to pharmaceuticals where she worked for 20 years in clinical research trials.

Bobby and Rosie were married for nearly 40 years. She was a proud police and military wife during their entire marriage, including supporting Bobby while he served the United States Army on two tours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Committed to her Catholic faith, Rosie was active in her parish at St. Martin of Tours in Forney, Texas. She was a member of the church choir for 25 years.

Rosie is remembered for her keen intellect, her warm and loving disposition, her steadfast support and reliability for her family and friends, and as her husband and daughters' matriarch and North Star. She was always quick to smile and laugh, she was the life of every party and made every room she entered rosier. She frequently referenced her dad, Jack's zest for life and emulated him in how she lived life to the fullest. Rosie loved Christmas and its traditions such as Christmas Eve mass in Electra, singing carols, baking and decorating Christmas cookies and spoiling her daughters with gifts. Most of all she enjoyed family time and adored talking and arguing over who was in whose high school class and creating cacophonies of laughter with her sisters.

Rosie is preceded in death by her parents, John "Jack" and Mary Helzlsouer, her dear sister, Bernadette, and her father and mother-in-law, Howard and Vivian Maddox.

The family welcomes donations to the American Red Cross in honor of Rosie's memory and lifelong dedication to her passion of nursing. redcross.org

The funeral mass in celebration of Rosie’s life will be held at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church on May 4, 2023 at 10:00.

Margaret Rose and her entire family have been family friends of my family as we both shared large families, our faith, and zest for living life to its fullest. Knowing that she is resting peacefully praising God for eternity is comforting and well deserved I have no doubt.

I was so sorry to hear of Margret's passing and sad we had lost touch over the years. I worked with Margaret at both Baylor and Merck and can say she brought her zest for life and laughter to work as well. Our poor boss at Baylor would hear the constant laughter, walk in, just shake his head and walk back out. Thinking of you all and know her spirit lives on in each of you!

“Forever Friend…”. Lakeway , Texas

There are no words to truly describe one of my dearest, sweetest, special, fun, brilliant, beautiful lifelong Friend-she was more of a sister as we grew up together in Electra, TX— Catholic Church, First Ward Elementary, Junior High, and Electra High School. My family was her family - along with her other 8 sisters. My 7 brothers were her and the other girls’ family too! GOD truly blessed me beyond measure with one of my Greatest Gifts: Margaret Rose! My heart breaks as I will miss her physical presence, but truly believe she is “spiritually surrounding us all” as we continue “here” until we are all reunited in Heaven. Margaret: I Love You my dear friend - Thanks for adding so much Joy, Happiness, Priceless Memories, Laughter, and Love….😘❤️❤️❤️❤️…
