Thomas Jack Sanders

February 18, 1955 – December 6, 2022

Thomas Jack Sanders, beloved father and husband, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 6, 2022, after a long and courageous battle against kidney cancer.

Born on February 18, 1955, in Mercedes, Texas to John and Dorothy Sanders. Tom graduated from Donna High School in 1973 and later went on to graduate from Texas A&M with a B.S. in Computer Science in 1987.

After graduation, Tom began working for Boeing in Wichita, Kansas on the V-22 Osprey. In 1990, he and his family moved to Dallas, Texas where he worked for E-Systems on the E-MASS storage project. Raytheon incorporated E-Systems and in 1999, Tom was a lead engineer on the development of the “One Raytheon Integrated ON-demand Network” (ORION). Tom continued to work through five iterations as the network technology evolved. He retired in July 2022 after more than 30 years as a network engineer.

Tom made many friends throughout his professional and personal life, all who will miss his great sense of humor and kind smile. He was known to always have a dad joke ready for any occasion. He was a lifelong learner with endless curiosity for how things work. He believed that almost anything that was broken could be fixed and it was rare to see him without some sort of project.

A devout Christian, Tom helped teach children’s church lessons at Stonebriar Community Church for over 14 years in various capacities. He had absolute faith in Jesus as his Savior and we know he is now walking with Jesus in heaven today. Tom requested that if you have not watched “The Chosen” about the life of Jesus Christ, please do and pay it forward.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Nancy H. Sanders, his three children, Aaron Sanders and his wife Alex and son Sebastian, Hannah Kovich and her husband Wyatt and children Rose, Hazel, Logan, and Cora, and Nathan Sanders. Tom is survived by his brothers Herbert, Robert, and sisters Patricia Barnes, and Cindy Petri and their families.

He is dearly missed by his friends and family, who will hold him in their hearts forever. Please join us in celebrating his life at 1:00 PM on December 10, 2022 at Stonebriar Community Church in the HUB. 4801 Legendary Drive, Frisco, Texas 75034.
