William Robert Oestreich, Age:70

William Robert Oestreich was an amazing husband, father, friend, and family man. His sense of humor kept us laughing, and his care for those around him let us know how much he loved us. An amazing musician, Bill loved playing the guitar and listening to the blues, jazz, and classic rock. He loved drawing, jigsaw puzzles, tinkering and building things.

Born in Watertown, South Dakota, to Evelyn and William “Bobby” Oestreich, he was the younger brother to Bonnie and Cheryl. At the age of eight, Terry, John, and Steve Larson became his instant brothers, moving in with his family when their father passed away. Their household became like a “boys camp”. Bill had many stories about the fun they all had playing tricks on his mom and each other.

This August, Bill and his wife Jane celebrated 41 years of marriage. Bill was very proud of his two children and the wonderful adults they have grown up to be. He was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild, and would have been a fantastic grandfather.

Bill is survived by his wife, Jane, daughter Katy (Josh) Dockery, son Robert (Bianca) Oestreich; sisters Bonnie Glidewell and Cheryl (Darwin) Stadley, cousins Terry (Kathryn “Pete”) Larson, and Steve Larson, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his cousin John Larson.

During the past 26 years, Bill lived with Parkinson’s disease. He fought the disease with humor, dignity, and perseverance. He was always respectful and appreciative of the care given to him by his family and caregivers. Thank you to Accent Hospice in Allen and Henrietta for their exceptional care of Bill.

We invite you to celebrate the life of William Oestreich at his service on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 11:00 am at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1919 Independence Parkway, Plano, Texas. A luncheon at the church will follow the service.

Family will host a visitation from 5:30-6:30 pm the evening of Thursday, November 10, at Resurrection Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to either the
