Chad M. Harris, Age:45

Chad M. Harris, 45, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on September 6, 2022. He may have left this world too soon, but his legacy lives on through the thousands of lives he touched with his teaching and his caring personality. Chad was too good to have a heart of gold, so it must have been a heart of platinum. He left us way too soon and this is quite possibly the only thing he did not procrastinate on.

Chad had a brilliant mind and held a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Science in Physics from The University of Texas at Dallas, had completed all coursework for a PhD in Physics from UT Dallas, and completed the Actuarial Science certificate program from the University of North Texas. He took pride in his new career and opportunities in the insurance industry, but his greatest joy was serving as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at the local community college. He was the real-life Sheldon Cooper with the heart of Leonard. Chad’s hobbies included YouTube videos, texting everyone he knew with tons of emojis, recognizing flags (all the flags), geography, meteorology, and anything to do with dogs. He enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Dallas Stars but mostly just to comment on their logos and jerseys. Chad had a love and knowledge of History that rivaled his knowledge of Math and Physics. He had a knack for helping people understand math who had previously been terrified of it and changed the lives of hundreds of people that were able to get the career of their dreams. He loved big and was loyal to those in his circle and if you ever got a YouTube video link from him, you were in.

Chad married the woman of his dreams, Mary, in March of 2020 in a small ceremony while the county was under Stay-at-Home Orders after having to postpone their big wedding. They were able to have their planned wedding ceremony a year later and he always proclaimed that he married her twice and would do it again. They decided to start measuring their marriage in dog years because of all they went through together in their nearly two and a half years of marriage. Chad loved Mary with every fiber of his being and was the absolute best husband. They had a love that is best explained as a real-life fairytale. The only day he broke her heart was the day he left this Earth.

Anyone who knew Chad is probably picturing him steering the Starship Enterprise with a spacecraft full of dogs and his beloved fur baby, Andy, riding shotgun. There is no doubt he’s already visited several galaxies and asked 2,413,328 questions. We all gained a guardian angel when Chad left us and he’ll be our fiercest protector.

Chad is survived by his wife Mary and beloved dog Ginger; his parents Larry and Sharon Harris of Texarkana, TX; his siblings Carly and Jonathon Armstrong, Cody and Steph Harris, Cliff and Meg Harris; nephew and nieces Austin Taylor, Addyson Armstrong, and Kenzie Harris. He is preceded in death by his fur baby Andy; his grandparents Charlene and Jesse Boyce, Lynden and Elizabeth Harris, and Milton Smith.

His Celebration of Life will be at RSVP Farmersville on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 2:00 PM. In honor of Chad, please wear your favorite team logo or the color teal.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Legacy Humane Society or your favorite animal rescue group.
