Valerie Ann Johnson, Age:72

Valerie Ann Johnson, from Anna, TX, was born on February 7, 1950 in Toledo, OH to Carolyn and John Cokain. She passed away in McKinney on April 17, 2022 at 72 years old. She was a proud Nana to her grandchildren and a best friend to her daughter. She had a long career in insurance and retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield in 2012.

Her favorite times were spent eating out at restaurants with her friends, the Lunch Bunch and family, going up north, shopping, watching her shows and playing puzzle games on her phone. She loved to spend time with her family at home, dancing to her favorite music, telling stories of her youth and laughing and telling funny jokes. She was a prankster and loved to jump out from a hiding spot to get a good scare in on the grandkids. She loved her time spent at the beach and the ocean with her amazing niece and family in Massachusetts, where she lived for a few years after her dear husband passed away. She was able to be close to her sister and when they would visit, there was sure to be wild laughter heard for miles around. In the last year she was able to travel to Indiana and Kansas enjoying her family reunion and the holidays with her loved ones. Everyone that knew and loved her and ones that she would meet would say that she was the sweetest person and that is true. She will be missed by so many.

She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Butler, of Anna, TX, grandchildren Patricia, Patrick, Brooke, Bailey, Chayse and Brett, sister Mary Chominsky and Brother-in-law Sam, of Warren, NH, niece Alison McGrath and her husband Pat and children Carolyn, Natalie and Eleanor, of Marshfield, MA, niece Karin Cardillo of Lancaster, NH, nephew Christopher Cardillo, of Warren, NH, friend Magdi Forrester, of Plano TX and a host of many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carolyn and John, husband David, niece Elaine and sister Jeanne.

A memorial service and Celebration of her life will be held on May 21, 2022. Location and times are TBD.
