Frank Rodriguez Gamez, 64, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2022 with his loving wife, Vicky Barnett Gamez, daughter, Amanda Gamez Orta and family by his side, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Frank was born October 19, 1957, in Dallas, Texas to Frank T. Gamez and Mary Jessie (Rodriguez) Gamez. He married Vicky Lee Barnett on June 13, 2016, at their home in Dallas. Frank attended Justin F. Kimball High School, with his two brothers and lettered in both baseball and soccer. In addition, he excelled as an amateur boxer, capturing the 1976 Dallas Golden Gloves Title in the Light Welterweight Division. After graduating from high school in 1976, he attended Mountain View College and quickly found his way into the electrical field, mastering the title of Journeyman Electrician. After serving as an electrician for several years, Frank was introduced to the Dallas Fire Department on June 8, 1983, which turned out to be a match made in Heaven. For over 33 years, he proudly served the citizens of Dallas, as a Lieutenant. Documenting and recording a number of fires that he was instrumental in extinguishing, it was evident he had found his home away from home.

In 2016, Frank retired from the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department and after several years of dating, he and Vicky tied the knot on June 13, 2016 and began the next chapter of life. It was obvious to all, from the beginning, these two were also a match made in Heaven. Frank was always ready to make plans for a fun night out, make plans with the family or go traveling to parts unknown. He had a zest for life and always remembered where he came from

Frank was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Trevino Gamez and is survived by his wife Vicky, his mother, Mary Jessie Cuellar, and husband, Howard; his daughter, Amanda Michelle (Gamez) Orta, and husband Eric; his brother Roland Gamez, and his brother Tom E. Gamez and wife Karen, step-daughter Amanda Lee (Barnett) Biggs, and husband, Robert, step-son John Barnett III (Jay), and wife Kristy, as well as 5 nephews and nieces and 6 grandchildren.
