Robert `Bob` Wooldridge, Age:89

Robert (Bob) Wooldridge

1933 - 2022

Robert Lee Wooldridge, age 89, passed away on April 6th, 2022. He was born to Mr. Berthel Wooldridge and Emma Stotts Wooldridge in Panora, IA.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers Lloyd, and Michael and his first wife Roberta Burchfield Wooldridge.

He is survived by his wife Karen, three sons Mark (Robyn), Alan (Jacqui) , Kirk (Karrie), daughter Mari, three stepchildren – Kay (Russ) Otting, Matthew (Kelly) Johnson, Molly (Joel) Hermes, foster son Steve Lenier, 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He also has a brother and a sister living in Iowa, Jerry Wooldridge, and Sharon Larson.

Bob had several passions, but his two favorite hobbies were flying and sailing. He even sold airplanes and became a flight instructor in his 70’s. He was a family man and loved being around his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was always there to help and knew how to fix everything!

He loved Jesus and his church. He was active in the church; served as an elder, sang in the choir, built cabinets, and helped set up the sound system.

He was an Army Veteran stationed in South Korea and was proud of his service. He said his only regret is not enlisting in the Air Force so he could have been a pilot!

He was blessed to have two great loves in his life. He met Roberta (his first love) in High School. They married after Roberta graduated from Drake University and he got back from the Korean War. They had four children. Roberta died after a long battle with cancer. Bob met his second love of his life, Karen, in Sioux City, Iowa. Karen already had three children Kay, Matt, and Molly. They were happily married for 38 years and lived in McKinney, Texas.

He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always there for them in whatever they needed. He had the patience of a saint, was kind and compassionate.

A Memorial Service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church 2708 Virginia Pkwy, in McKinney, TX 75071 on May 14, 2022, at 11am followed by a reception. Live Streaming will be provided.
