On March 30, 2021, Janet Marie Shea was granted her wings and called to be with the lord.
Janet was born on September 12, 1945, in Giddings, Texas to Henry and Paula Wobus. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend. She had an infectious smile that made an impact on so many lives. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Janet. She loved quiet days to read, travel and spend time with her family and friends. She was a member at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Mesquite, Texas, and had a huge heart for animals, and would often donate to the SPCA.
She graduated from The University of Texas in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She then moved to Dallas, Texas where she began her career working in Special Education and married Robert T. Shea in 1974. Janet began her Master’s degree shortly after and graduated in 1976 from East Texas State with a Masters of Education. She then would begin her career as an Educational Diagnostician for Dallas ISD and Garland ISD.
Janet is survived by her husband of 46 years, Mr. Robert T. Shea, and their daughter Jennifer Christiansen along with her husband Mark Christiansen and grandchildren Brycen and Brynley Christiansen. She is also survived by one brother, Milton Wobus from Austin and two sisters, Joyce Hancock from Austin and Jane Hendrix from Arkansas, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wobus, and one brother, Henry Jr. Wobus. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she reached but never met.
