Rebecca Rodriguez, Age:73

Rebecca Venable Rodriguez, 73 of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Monday September the 10th, 2018 in her home.

She was surrounded by her husband Patrick Rodriguez and his visiting brother Denis Rodriguez. ALSO, A MENTION TO THE REMARKABLE NURSES AND OTHER PERSONEL OF Home Hospice association VNA.

She was born in the early hours of the first day of 1945 in Houston. Her mother, Catherine June Pemberton Venable painted a deep red lipstick on her baby lips, since it was a festive night.

It is safe to say that no one ever saw her again with unpainted lips.

In her early teens she, along with her Mom and brother Cary and sister Timi were adopted by a marvelous man, Bill Chronister, Biologist for the booming oil industry in Texas.

Later on she decided to develop her many skills in New-York where she accomplished to become a well known tapestry expert (noticeably for the Rothschild family).

Down the road she established a part time life in the French Quarters of New-Orleans where she developed professional acquaintances with Museums as a conservationist.

Being a fabulous action photographer, she participated to extensive overseas trips, on behalf of Museums: Alligator hunting in Cajun Bayous, precious stone mining in Brazil, archeological excavations in Bolivia and Peru.

Europe did not escape her curiosity. She studied Italian cuisine in Tuscany, residing in noble families castles as a special guest for many years. She also worked with the “museum du nouveau monde” in la Rochelle, France.

In 1991, she accepted to sail out of New-Orleans with a couple of friends to Cuba as a galley Chef. She was travelling with her cat Gato. The boat took a last stop on an Island of Yucatan, Mexico, Isla Mujeres.

She decided to stay and lived nearly 3 years, perfecting her Spanish skills, doing photography jobs for the local tourist industry.

In February 1994, she fell for a passing international Musician, Patrick Rodriguez AKA Anda Loup.

A 10 months season 0f bliss…

They made their way back to Texas and married in Rockwall on May the first 1995.

They resided in Big D since.

She worked for the Dallas Museum of Art as a grant writer. She raised millions of dollars.

She was one of the consultants for city-wide celebrations of New Mundo organized by the office of Cultural affairs in 2000.

She spent many years working with ESL communities. She was unanimously recognized as a fabulous teacher in community colleges.

In 2006, Rebecca was given a chance to participate as a consultant, grant writer and exhibitions organizer for a non-profit group, Collaborating Artists Media Project.

Corporations such as Pierson Foundation, Smithsonian Museum, Adobe, Nokia, were her sources of abundant funding.

No ceremonies will be conducted. Her desire was to be cremated and her ashes will be dispersed in the waters of Miami by her husband and grandson Zack Smith.

A website “rebeccasmuseum.com” will soon allow anyone to see her accomplishments in Photography,Writing, Jewelry making, Clothes designing and recipe creations.
