J. Rodney Brister, Age:82
J. Rodney Brister, age 82 of Dallas, passed away May 12, 2022, with his wife of 44 years by his side. Rod was born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana where he graduated from Bolton High School where he was a standout in both athletics and debate. He later attended SMU and SMU Law School. He practiced criminal law in Dallas for over 55 years.
An avid duck hunter, Rod was happiest when spending time with friends at his "camp" on Navarro Mills Lake in Dawson, Texas, especially during the bluebonnet season. His beloved dog, Pinkie, was always by his side and Rod and his wife, Vicki, never missed an LSU, SMU, or Dallas Cowboys football game on TV.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Joe and Lessie Brister, and younger brother, Wentz. Rod is survived by his wife, Vicki, children, J. Rodney Brister II, and Linnie Lee Brister, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Barbara and Eddie Eberhart, as well as his many friends who were so important to him.
Rod lived life to the fullest and we all will miss him tremendously. Memorial donations may be made to Operation Kindness, SPCA, or charity of your choice.
