Carolyn Inez Ross Highers passed peacefully in her sleep March19, 2022 in Melissa, Texas.,
She was born August 2,1933 to Jess Monroe Ross and Pocahontas Starr Ross in Haskell, Oklahoma. She spent her school days in Muskogee, Oklahoma where she met and married Jackie Edward Highers.  They spent so many wonderful years together in Sierra Vista, Arizona, Page, Arizona, and Fort Gibson Oklahoma.

She was preceded in her death by her husband Jack.  Carolyn is survived by three children, Debra Griffin, Kathie Parks, Jack Highers, 6 grandchildren plus 12 great grandchildren.

Carolyn was very social, active in many clubs and organizations in the communities of Page, Arizona and Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma.  She was not only known for her adorable appearance, but her instant charm and above all her independent and strong character.  There was nowhere she could go and not quickly make friends. People would instantly open up to her and she would know their life story within minutes.

She was extremely proud of her Cherokee heritage. She was bold, fiery and above all feisty. It was a standing joke if she was mad at you, you better sleep with one eye open.

Carolyn was a brave, strong lady, a blessing to spend time with.
