Edward Bator, Age:51

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edward Michael Bator (Addison, Texas), who went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2022. Eddie was 51 years old.

Eddie was born on February 27, 1970, to Mary Jo and Edward D. Bator in Wayne County, Michigan and moved to Corsicana, Texas, when he was nine years old. When he was ten, God brought a sweet couple into Eddie’s life: Peggy and Terry Moore. The Moores showered abundant care on Eddie, and he deeply mourned Peggy’s death in 2019. Eddie attended Corsicana High School, where he was a member of the tennis team. He was extremely proud of winning the state tennis championship with his doubles partner John Nelson. After graduating in 1988, he was awarded the Collins Scholarship and began college at The University of North Texas. While at UNT, Eddie joined the fraternity Sigma Nu. His Sigma Nu brothers were travel partners in skiing, golf, and life. They maintained an important presence in his life, always available for support in times of joy and sorrow.

After graduating with a degree in Accounting in 1993, Eddie went on to also attend the Southern Methodist University Executive Management Program in 1997.

In 1999, Eddie and Holly were introduced by mutual friends Patty and Wes Steely. Eddie and Holly married in 2000 and had three children: Zoe, Seth, and Payne. They were witness to the power of God’s redemption in their marriage. Eddie was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family, who meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was endlessly proud of Zoe, Seth, and Payne.

Eddie belonged to Willow Bend Church, where he was involved in Celebrate Recovery, Life Group, and Bible Study. His love of the Lord was evident in his daily walk and his compassion for others. Eddie loved good music, good friends, and a good round of golf. A master of the dad joke, his wit and sense of humor both delighted his friends and embarrassed his children. Eddie was a devoted supporter of Michigan football, had a love/hate relationship with the Dallas

Cowboys, and was a force to be reckoned with on Twitter. Anyone who knew Eddie was touched by his kindness, his humor, and his willingness to have an open ear and open heart for whoever needed him.

Eddie was preceded in death by Peggy Moore and his mother Mary Jo. Eddie is survived by his wife Holly, his children, Zoe, Seth, and Payne, as well as his father and stepmother, Ed and Donna Bator and sisters Lori Bator Owens and Stephanie Bator George.

Eddie loved fiercely and deeply and we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. - Revelation 21:4
