Wendy Sue

Wendy Sue (born Wendy Sue Mandel) passed away late in the evening on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Medical City Hospital, Dallas, Texas.

Wendy was born July 1, 1951 in White Plains, New York. She received her bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Connecticut at Storrs in 1985, became a Certified Medical Technologist in 1986, and was certified as a Medical Transcriptionist in 2003, 2005, and 2011 by the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity.

Wendy once took a photo that won first place in a contest on the Aleutian island Adak, where her former husband, Bill Morehouse, was stationed at the naval base for several years. The photo was turned into a postcard. Wendy was proud of that, as well as of having gone back to college as an adult and earned a degree. She was artistic and loved to draw and paint. She took great joy in her friends, as well as the many cats she owned and loved over the years. She enjoyed hearing the sound of rain on a window while reading a book. She loved gardening and baking.

Wendy is survived by her brother Mark Mandel and his children Susannah and Jeremy Mandel; her partner, George Norwood; and her son Roger Morehouse, his wife Renate Morehouse and their daughter Zira Morehouse.
