Eva Mae (Deneen) Merrill

Eva Mae “Eve” Merrill, loving mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 12th, 2021, in Lewisville, Texas at the age of 93.

Eve was born and raised in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. After WWII, she met and married Dale Eckhardt. They had three children and lived in San Francisco, California. She and Dale divorced and, in 1960, she met John “Jake” Merrill. They lived in Santa Clara, California, and had one son, Charlie, who passed away in 2008.

Eve is survived by her sons Kenneth (Hazel) Eckhardt of Lyons, Oregon, and Doug Merrill of Lewisville, Texas, and by her daughter, Suzanne Eckhardt of Gatesville, Texas. She had four grandchildren, Jennifer, Mark, Nicole, and Bethany, and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, and JoJo. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Myrtle Deneen, four sisters, two brothers, her husband, Jake, and her son, Charlie.

There will be no funeral or memorial ceremony. Eve will be cremated by All Texas Cremation and interred with her husband, Jake, at a veteran's cemetery in California.
