Linda Thomas, Age:57

Reflections of Life…

Mrs. Linda Ann Thomas was born October 26, 1962 in Middletown, Connecticut to Betty Jean Thomas and the late John Willie Thomas. Linda enjoyed her life in Middletown until she reached the age of 10, where she migrated to Hartford, CT to live with her grandmother, Rosa Lee Harvey. She was a caregiver to her grandmother until her passing in 1986.

Linda graduated from A.I. Prince Technical High School in 1981, while earning a trade in “Graphic Communications”. In the late 1980s, she started working for JCPenney Distribution Center in Manchester, CT as a stock clerk. From years of hard work and dedication she was promoted to a supervisor. She played a prominent role in the company for over 25 years.

Linda was a devoted and dedicated mother, wife, daughter, aunt, niece, caregiver, and friend to many. She was an entrepreneur by heart. In the late 90s, she launched her catering career (God’s Anointed Catering). Her passion and experience for cooking was felt and tasted in every dish. Family and friends have been tasting her delicious cooking for decades.

However, some of her other hobbies were fishing, bowling, and making others smile. Just like her father, who loved is Eldorado Cadillac, she had the same passion for her 1978 Cutlass Supreme. She had that car since she was 16 years old and was currently in the process of restoring it.

She was never shy to talk to anyone about God’s word. Her knowledge and wisdom she shared has helped many friends and family members become successful individuals. She left a rememberable mark on the lives of those she encountered.

Linda is survived by her cherished loved ones-her mother Betty Jean Thomas of Plano, TX; two daughters Surayyah Goss of Plano, TX and Latora Goss of Hartford, CT; her four brothers Larry Thomas (Wife Robin) of Hartford, CT; Robert “Bobby” Thomas (Wife Debra) of Plano, TX; Leonard Thomas of Austin, TX; James “Chuck” Givens of Hartford, CT; her sister Van Neal of New Britain, CT; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her father John Willie Thomas, two sisters Regina Thomas and Tanya Harvey (survived by son Tywon Harvey & daughter Jatoya Cole).
