Mary Ann Trail, Age:65

Mary Ann (Cagley) Trail went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 14, 2020 at age 65 after a brief battle with ALS. She was surrounded in her Rockwall, Texas home by her beloved family and miniature schnauzer, Georgia Mae.

Mary Ann was born on April 1, 1955 in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Richard and Ella Cagley. She graduated from Terrell High School in 1973. Mary Ann married her first and only love, Scott Henry Trail, III on June 2, 1973 in Terrell, Texas where the couple lived for more than 20 years prior to relocating to Rowlett, and finally settling in Rockwall. Together they reared three loving, independent, and spirited children: Jason, Corey, and Lindsey. They deeply mourned the loss of their infant daughter, Cindy, in 1980. Mary Ann always had a knack for numbers and problem solving which led her to a long career as an accountant for various organizations. She officially retired in January of 2020. She was an avid reader and could often be found perusing the isles of the public library searching for a new mystery novel and checking out the maximum number of books each visit. She was extremely creative and had an eye for design and served as the family’s chief decorator and seamstress, logging countless hours sewing custom curtains and costumes, painting rooms, and completing many do-it-yourself projects. She loved watching her granddaughters dance and being backstage in the middle of the action. She attended every performance. She delighted in family vacations at the beach. Most importantly, she deeply loved her family and her Lord. She and Scott worshipped at Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall. Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 47 years, Scott Trail of Rockwall, son Jason Trail and wife Michelle of New Braunfels, son Corey Trail and wife Casey of Mabank, daughter Lindsey Roberts and husband Craig of Rockwall; grandsons Austin Trail of Mabank, Kyle and Nathan Trail of New Braunfels; granddaughters Hadley, Harper, and Hayden Roberts of Rockwall; brother Jon Cagley and wife Terry of Dallas and brother Robert Cagley of Arlington. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ella Cagley, and her infant daughter, Cindy. Mary Ann will be laid to rest at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Rockwall in a private service for family.
